“Don’t do what people expect you to do”

I decided to start my own business and walk away from good employment. I opened up my business and took a big step and a leap of faith. I was scared but it all came together, everything worked out. It help me realize that you just have to try stuff and do it. And if it doesn’t go through try again.

My family has the reputation of being educators and being professionals as far as in the degree world. My whole family is educated and known for going to school. And you are expected to follow suit, to keep the tradition going and hold up that standard. And I kind of stepped out of the box. I went but I didn’t finish and I kind of beat myself up about it because I wanted to keep up the tradition. My family set a standard and I wanted to meet that. I felt that I didn’t meet that standard because I went to a vocational school. But it worked for me because it’s my passion. My family still supported me and thats when I understood to follow your heart.

It doesn’t matter where you go it’s what you do with what you learned. I love doing what I do and I had to come to that conclusion. Don’t do what people expect you to do, do what your heart desires. The name of my business is Lena Brows & Beauty Bar. I named it after my grandmother.

I used to love teddy bears. I used to have a bed full of them. I still have one. My first love gave me this teddy bear and I still have it. I look at it and I think of memories. They make me feel happy.

For the next 11 days I will be focusing on the people of Sandusky, Ohio. They were kind enough to share their stories with me. I met some amazing people and they make up the “Perfect Reject Stories of Sandusky”.
