“Being different is actually what we need more of because that’s what love is”

Like many, I grew up with a single mother and a few siblings. I went to 18 schools, growing up. By high school, my junior year I had my own apartment, me and my brother, who is a year older than me. I got a minor scholarship to play football and then I ended up joining the military.

I went to war for over a year; frontline, shooting, explosions and all that. And I made it back. That in itself changed my mind, expanded my mind. It made me appreciate the little things. Just being back in America was one of my happiest feelings ever. And then amongst all that I came back home to help family and I ended up being homeless for a year and a half. Then I overcame that. I’m happy. I’m here now. I’ve been going to school for year and a half now.

Great things have come from that. I am ready for the future, ready to do better. That’s my main purpose. I’m an audio engineer and a post production sound designer and producer. I’m trying to see how my music can change life. My goal is to make people do better and for them to see that they can do better.

All this inspired me to be more humble and to look for the difference in other people and to embrace my difference. It is important to see that being different is not a bad thing. Being different is actually what we need more of because that’s what love is. Accept people for their difference and embrace it.

When I was little I used to have a teddy bear, it kind of looked like this guy but a little smaller. This is going to sound crazy but honestly one day he just disappeared. I doubt my mom took it, threw it away. I was so upset I remember looking for it for weeks and I could never find it. I was probably in first or second grade. I was loved but it made me feel more loved. It was like my little friend.
