I got to understand that everyone is different

I got to understand that everyone is different and I got to learn more about other people. Celebrate difference and Celebrate diversity.

“I got to understand that everyone is different”

When I was in middle school a lot of my friends were Latinas and Latinos. I was the only Asian over there. Everyone was from a different country they were able to talk to each other without any problem. Since I came here when I was in middle school I couldn’t speak any English and my friends couldn’t speak any English at all. But they could understand each other but I couldn’t because I don’t know any Spanish or English. So it was pretty hard to make friends and hang out. To be honest I have some, not a hatred but I didn’t like people from Latin America countries because of that experience.

But that makes sense, they couldn’t speak English, they could only speak Spanish when they talk to each other. I didn’t like the feeling of being an outside. It was a pretty bad experience.

From that point on I got to understand that everyone is different and I got to learn more about other people. I lived in Korea and I only hang out with Koreans, my people. And I experienced that my friends and my people aren’t that great. I got to help people who didn’t speak English. Now I like to tutor. Since I am good at math and science now I really like to help people because of that experience. Before that I never tried to talk to strangers or help other people because that’s too much work.

One of my dreams is to go to a Third World country and then teach the people. For some countries that don’t have any high school or universities so I want to go there and teach.

I used to have a basket full of plushies when I was in Korea. I couldn’t bring all my plushies here. I still have a pink bunny.  She used to have a name I don’t remember it now. She was my friend that I would always play with.
