Perfect Reject Stories celebrate the human spirit

I started Perfect Reject® in 2011 when I found a stuffed animal on the sidewalk that had fallen apart.

As I played with it in my studio I realized how tender and vulnerable this little, rejected toy had become. I collected more, and eventually started to sell these Perfect Rejects at art fairs. Only then did I realize that these little creatures touched many people in a deeply profound way. The stories that people shared with me were so touching and moving that I knew that I had to document them.

I now realize that it is these empowering stories that bring back the human element to my stuffed animals and give them their life. These toys become a bridge and make connections with people, and I feel deeply honored to be their facilitator and caretaker of them. My emphasis now has changed from rehabilitating toys to documenting inspirational stories from seemingly ordinary people, showing the world how they are the Xtra in the ordinary.

My goal is to try and get a new story up daily. I will be posting here on my blog and on my new Facebook page, Perfect Reject Stories and on my Instagram account, Perfect Reject Stories and Tumblr. I hope to inspire and empower you. See you there! And please let me know your thoughts on the posts.

P.S. I still have a need to be creative and work in my studio creating stuffed animals but not as often as I used to.
